30 new schools for Herat province (2003–2011)

In the Green Helmets’ largest and longest project to date, more than 30 schools have been built in Herat province. This gave many children and young people in Afghanistan a real chance of a school education. However, the deployment of Green Helmets was only possible until 2007, as a member of staff was briefly kidnapped that year. In addition to the many schools, Afghanistan’s first skateboard track was also built thanks to special commitment.
