Aid project in refugee camps in Idomeni (2016)
Packed with tents for around 200 refugees, a cooking unit, blankets and documents, the Green Helmets’ refugee mobile was deployed for several months in 2016 at the Greek-Macedonian border in Idomeni. By July 2016, more than 1,000 tents had been equipped with wooden floors. In addition, 15 timber-frame buildings were built for flexible use.

Between October 2015 and January 2016, the Green Helmets deployed a team on the island of Lesbos to winterize the makeshift “survival camps” along the coast and to increase the tent capacity on site. The Green Helmets were supported by the refugees who, despite their exhaustion, did not want to miss the opportunity to lend a hand.
