Reconstruction after Cyclone Idai (2019-2022)

Mozambique was severely affected by Cyclone Ida in March 2019. Millions of people were left homeless by the cyclone and the subsequent flooding. In the small village of Sovim, about a 3-hour drive from Beira, the Green Helmets are rebuilding a school for around 320 children with the help of the villagers. The school was opened in 2021 and is a secondary school. We have also been building an elementary school since the end of 2021.
