Rapid emergency aid after the flood of the century (2010–2011)
2 million people are said to have been left homeless by the great floods in Pakistan in 2010. In a quick action – with the support of Ruth Pfau’s organization and many compassionate donors – the Green Helmets were able to build a new and stable home for almost 200 affected families in one year.
Reconstruction after an earthquake in the Kashmir region (2005–2006)
After a severe earthquake in the Kashmir region in November 2005, the Green Helmets were able to provide a total of 370 families in the extremely mountainous village of Buthi with materials for new houses. Thanks to the very committed population, the Green Helmets subsequently built a school for the inhabitants of Buthi.
