Construction of an infirmary in Tan My (2006)
In 2006, the Green Helmets in Vietnam set up an infirmary to improve medical care in the village of Tan My. The infirmary consists of an outpatient clinic and a maternity ward. In addition to the construction challenges, the main task was to overcome the enormous bureaucratic hurdles in the socialist country. More than 30 local workers were involved in the construction of the new infirmary. The small village of Tan My is located in the agricultural south of Vietnam. The region in the Mekong Delta is considered to be particularly poor.
